The first Bukowski “Bluebird” video features animation void of the text itself. Instead the poem is acted out by the central character, with piano background music. It’s a highly stylized short film, looking very much like a watercolor painting.

This “Bluebird” animated video is much more jarring and less tranquil than the one before it, and it features a reading of the poem. The audio comes from the documentary “Born Into This” – which you can watch in full by clicking on the link – and is read by actor Harry Dean Stanton. It relies mostly on a typography approach, with shaky animation.
