Charles Bukowski “Crucifix in a Death Hand,” Warren Zevon “Carmelita” Mashup

Folk and country singer-songwriter Tom Russell was friends with Charles Bukowski. He released an album in 2005 called Hotwalker that was largely inspired by his correspondence with the writer.

This song features Bukowski’s poem “Crucifix in a Deathhand,” set to a coda of Warren Zevon’s famous song “Carmelita.” Some of the lyrics to “Carmelita” also make an appearance at the end. But mostly, the words are Buk’s.
